                 South Africa vs Sri Lanka 5th ODI, Sri Lanka tour of South Africa 2019 was played on Sat 16th Mar 2019 in Newlands, Cape Town. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.

 Sri Lankan opener once again disappointed as they couldn’t give good start to team. Avishka Fernando scored 9 runs of 15 balls with 2 fours, Tharanga departed scoring 2 runs of 8 balls. Oshada Fernando and Kushal Mendis built a partnership of 49 runs where Oshada got out on 22 runs of 47 balls with 4 fours and after Oshada’s wicket Kushal Mendis built a partnership with A Perera where A Perera scored 31 runs of 37 balls with 3 fours. Kushal Mendis departed after scoring 56 of 83 balls with 3 fours. Priyamal Perera scored 33 of 57 with 2 fours, T Perera scored 2 of 7 balls and de Silva scored 12 runs of 12 balls, Udana carried his last match’s form to these matchand scored 32  runs of 29 balls with 3 fours and a six and helped lankLan to set a target of 225-10 in 49.3 overs.

Rabada picked 3 wickets, Ngidi, Phehlukwayo got 1 wicket each, Anrich Nortje and Tahir picked 2 wickets each.

 De Kock and Markram started the inning was unfortunate and got out scoring 6 runs of 14 balls with a four but Makram striked the ball well and built a partnership of 70 runs along with du Plessis but du Plessis departed on 24 of 43 balls with a four, after 28 overs when South Africa were 135-2 runs in 28 overs,the play stopped due to bad light as one of the floodlights tower couldn’t switched on. So the play called off and by DLS method South Africa was declared as the winner and South Africa won the series by 5-0 in a 5 match series where Markram got Player of the match and Quinton de Kock was declared as man of the series.
