Virat kohli along with Parthiv Patel comes to open the inning of 1st match of IPL season 12. Harbhajan Singh in his second over took the wicket of Virat Kohli on 6 runs of 12 balls and after the Kohli’s wicket the batting lineup collapsed and wickets continued to fall at the other end, as Parthiv Patel sticked at one end. Harbhajan Singh destroyed the top order by picking wickets of all three top order batsman by conceding only 20 runs in his 4 overs and the two debutante couldn’t help the team, Hetmyer not even able score a run as he was departed on a duck. Rest of the work was done by Imran Tahir who picked 3 wickets by conceding only 9 runs in his four overs, Deepak Chahar completed his four overs and conceded 17 runs. Ravindra Jadeja picked 2 wickets for 15 runs in his four overs DJ Bravo got one wicket. No batsman other than Parthiv Patel could score 2 digit runs as a result of which RCB were restricted on 70-10 wickets in 17.1 overs where Parthiv Patel scored 29 runs (2 fours).

Watson and Rayudu comes to bat and in the 3rd overs first bowl Chahal departed Watson on a duck. Raina played some good shots but couldn’t score more than 19 runs (3 fours) of 21 balls and departed by Moen Ali. As the target was not so the bowler could do nothing other than delaying the match. Rayudu and Kedar took the team close to the target where Rayudu scored 28 runs (2 fours, a six) of 42 balls and departed by M Siraj. CSK played with slow run rate and won the match quite comfortably where Kedar remained unbeaten on 13 runs (1 four) of 19 balls and Jadeja scored 5 runs of 15 balls and CSK won the match by 7 wickets in 17.4.
