 The 3rd Match of VIVO IPL season 12 2019, MI vs DC was played on Super Sunday 24th Mar 2019 in Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and elected to bowl first.

  Prithvi Shaw and Sikhar Dhawan came to crease to open the inning, McClenaghan picked two wicket in consecutive overs where Prithvi departed on 7 runs of 6 balls and Shreyas Iyer scored 16 runs (2 fours, 1 six) of 10 balls. Sikhar Dhawan batted slow and steadily with Ingram and helped DC to recover and built a partnership of 83 runs. Pant at the end of the Innings played huge and unbelievable shots which helped DC to set a score of 213-6 in 20 overs where Pant scored unbeaten 78 runs (7 fours, 7 sixes) of 27 balls.

McClenaghan picked 3 wickets, Bumrah and Cutting got 1 wicket each.

 Rohit Sarmah and Quinton de Kock started aggressively but Ishant Sharma departed Rohit in the fourth over of match. After Rohit’s wicket MI started losing wickets at regular intervals where de Kock departed on 27 runs (4 fours, 1 six) of 16 balls by Ishant Sharma. Yuyraj and keron Polard tried to quick runs and built a partnership of 50 runs but Polard couldn’t score more than 21 runs (2 fours, a six) of 13 balls. Krunal Pandya played comfortably and departed by Trent Boult on 32 runs (5 fours, a six) of 15 balls. Yuvraj Singh at one end scored runs but at the other end wickets falling at regular intervals as a result of which MI scored 176-10 in 19.2 overs and MI lose the match by 37 runs where Yuvraj scored 53 runs (5 fours, 3 sixes) of 35 balls and was departed by Rabada.

Ishant and Rabada picked 2 wickets each, Trent Boult, Keemo Paul and Adar Patel got 1 wicket each.
